City Palace Jaipur is a magnificent royal residence located in the heart of the Pink City, serving as the administrative headquarters of the Jaipur royal family. Built between 1729 and 1732 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, the palace complex showcases a blend of Rajput, Mughal, and European architectural styles. The palace is still partially inhabited by the royal family and houses several museums, courtyards, gardens, and buildings that reflect the opulence and grandeur of the Rajput era. City Palace is one of the most visited tourist attractions in Jaipur.
City Palace was constructed by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, the founder of Jaipur, as part of his vision to create a planned city. The palace complex has been expanded and modified by successive rulers over the centuries. Today, it serves as a museum showcasing royal artifacts, weapons, paintings, and textiles, while still being the residence of the current Maharaja of Jaipur.
