Banswara, Rajasthan
Banswara Railway Station is an upcoming railway project that aims to connect the tribal-dominated Vagad region to the national rail network. As of now, Banswara does not have an operational railway station. The station is part of the highly anticipated Ratlam-Dungarpur via Banswara rail line project, which has seen recent developments after years of delay. Once completed, it will be a major milestone for the district, which is currently accessible only by road.
Current State: Under construction/planning phase. Land acquisition and leveling work have been reported in recent updates.
Route: The proposed line will link Ratlam (Madhya Pradesh) to Dungarpur (Rajasthan) passing through Banswara.
Since the station is not yet functional, travelers can use the following railheads:
Ratlam Junction (RTM): Approx 80 km away (Major junction on the Delhi-Mumbai line).
Dungarpur (DNRP): Approx 100 km away.
Udaipur City (UDZ): Approx 160 km away.
The completion of this station is expected to significantly boost tourism to Banswara's natural and historical sites and improve economic opportunities for the region.
