In March 2025, the Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority (CMDA) announced a ₹20.17 crore redevelopment plan for the 16-acre Chetpet Eco Park, aiming to introduce new water sports, a musical fountain, bird-viewing decks, improved walkways, and renovated structures with sustainable features to enhance water management and ecological balance.
