Birla Planetarium, also known as B.M. Birla Planetarium, is a state-of-the-art facility offering immersive astronomical experiences in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. Located within the Periyar Science and Technology Centre campus in Kotturpuram, it features a 15-meter dome and seating for 250 visitors. The planetarium conducts daily shows in both English and Tamil, covering topics such as the Solar System, eclipses, and the deep sky. In 2019, it underwent significant renovations, including the installation of a hybrid digital opto-mechanical projector that provides 360-degree immersive video effects, making it one of the most advanced planetariums in India.

Birla Planetarium is well connected by road and public transport. The planetarium is located in Kotturpuram, which provides excellent connectivity to Chennai city center and surrounding areas. The Kotturpuram and Kasturba Nagar MRTS stations are approximately 1 km away, offering convenient rail access. Public bus services operated by the Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC) provide regular connectivity to the area. Taxis, auto-rickshaws, and app-based cab services operate regularly, offering convenient access for visitors. The planetarium is easily accessible from major railway stations and the international airport, making it convenient for both local visitors and tourists. The planetarium is open daily from 10:00 AM to 5:45 PM, except on national holidays. Show timings are: English Shows at 10:45 AM, 1:15 PM, and 3:45 PM; Tamil Shows at 12:00 PM, 2:30 PM, and 4:30 PM. Entry fees are ₹35 for adults and ₹20 for children (below 12 years), with additional charges for 3D shows and special exhibitions.
